Prices For All Natural Highland Beef From Highplains Ranch.
Quarter, halves and whole Beefs are available at $3.00 a lb. hanging weight plus the butchering cost of $0.65 per lb. hanging
weight and $50.00 kill fee per animal. Average Price per lb handing weight is $3.85 lb. From hanging weight to packaged weight
you usually lose about 30% The Highlands are small cows so an entire animal usually hangs around 300 Lbs. and packages out
at 200 lbs. of meat. (about 50 lbs of beef for your freezer per quarter)
What you usually get in a quarter of Beef is: Ground Beef 16 to 19 lbs- Stew Beef 2 to 3 lbs- Round Steak 3 to 5 lbs- Cubed Steak
1 to 3 lbs- Rib Steak or Prime Rib 3 to 4 lbs- T-bone Steak 3 to 5 lbs- Chuck Roast 3 to 6 lbs- Rump or Round Roast 2 to 3 lbs-
Sirloin Steak 3 to 5 lbs- Sirloin Tip Steak 2 to 3 lbs- Short Ribs 3 to 5 lbs- Chuck Arm Roast 1 to 2 lbs- Soup Bones 2 to 3 lbs-
